The Challenge

Barnwood Carpentry had a solid reputation across Surrey, but their digital visibility wasn’t keeping pace with the scale and calibre of their work. Following the launch of their new website, the next strategic lever was clear: a structured, data-driven SEO programme that could amplify their presence, capture high-intent traffic, and build a sustainable pipeline of both private and commercial projects. While their craftsmanship spoke for itself offline, search visibility in competitive sectors like bespoke carpentry, oak joinery, and commercial fit-outs required a more sophisticated, performance-led approach. The objective was to create consistent top-of-funnel demand, strengthen their authority in premium carpentry services, and shift their search footprint beyond domestic work towards higher-value commercial contracting opportunities.

The Process

We deployed a fully integrated SEO roadmap designed to accelerate authority, expand keyword coverage, and convert organic visibility into revenue-generating enquiries. Our optimisation programme was built around several critical workstreams:

There are many ways to quantify and qualify a project’s success. Firstly, the client’s view was that it was a great reflection of their business and the position that they have established in the market as a highly skilled, family-owned business with a large number of very happy customers. Secondly the performance of the website in both attaining and converting new business opportunities, especially in the target sectors.

Increase in Search Impressions

Soon after the new website launch, the website, which had been delivering a consistent number of low impressions in the Google search results, leapt by over 1,400%, in the first fortnight, meaning that instead of appearing in Google search results 4 or 5 times per day, they suddenly appeared an average of around 75 times per day. With the addition of an ongoing SEO campaign, this growth trend has continued since, ensuring the continued share of search results and subsequent business benefits including a greater number of relevant, local enquiries.

Top of Page Rankings

The huge increase in impressions was of course driven firstly, by a vastly improved number of keywords being ranked for  with many of these at high positions on page one. Prior to the launch, the domain ranked on pages 1-2 for a number of local searches but the new website and it’s improved structure, SEO elements and content, massively increased the number of keywords being ranked for and moved the majority to positions 1-3. We continue to work with this client to increase the number of keywords that they rank for further and ensure that the top positions remain stable.

Increase in Enquiries

It’s all well and good ranking for your target keywords, but without a website designed to convert these new visits to enquiries the objectives wouldn’t be delivered.
